4 - Cotton Fabrics - d) Cotton Heavy Twill Yarn Dyed Fabric
(Auto Loom and Power Loom)
📌 Description
🧶 Fabric Construction:
Twill weave with a distinct diagonal rib; tightly woven with yarn-dyed cotton threads to ensure colorfastness and strength.
Weave Type: 3×1 or 2×1 twill (diagonal ribs).
Yarn-Dyed Process: Warp and weft threads dyed before weaving.
Finish:
Mercerized: Increased luster/strength (optional).
Sanforized: Pre-shrunk for stability.
✅ Key Advantages
🧬 Fabric Content:
100% cotton (occasionally blended with a small percentage of elastane or polyester for added stretch or strength)
Premium: 100% cotton (breathable, softens with wear).
Blends:
Cotton-Polyester (65/35): Wrinkle-resistant, more durable.
Cotton-Spandex (98/2): Adds stretch for comfort.
⚖️ Fabric Weight:
Generally between 250 GSM to 400 GSM, depending on construction and yarn count
📏 Fabric Width:
Typically 58" to 63" (147 cm to 160 cm)
Standard: 44"–45" (apparel), 54"–60" (upholstery).
Selvage Edges: Often present (self-finished edges for durability).
🖨️ Printing:
Not typically used for post-weaving printing due to yarn-dyed nature; instead, color and pattern are built into the weave.
Not Recommended: Traditional printing (yarn-dyed patterns are woven in).
Alternatives: Embroidery, laser etching, or appliqué for added design.
🌍 Country of Origin: India
🧼 Care Instructions:
Machine wash in cold or lukewarm water
